Join BCYC: Your Step-by-Step Guide
Becoming a member of Bristol Corinthian Yacht Club is a straightforward process. Usually, it takes about one week from your initial application to receiving your gate key.
1. Preparation
- Explore: Browse our website for club details. If you can't find what you're looking for, get in touch.
- Choose Your Category: Decide if you are joining as an Individual, Couple, a Parent + Kids, or a full Family.
- Storage: Decide if you require on-site storage for your boat or board.
- The Gate Key: We recommend opting for a gate key (£20 refundable deposit). It's the best way to enjoy the club on your own schedule.
2. The Application
- Apply Online: Create an account and submit our Online Membership Form.
- Review: As part of our agreement with Bristol Water, all applications are briefly reviewed by the Club Committee.
- Invoice: Once approved, you will receive an invoice via email with clear payment instructions.
3. Welcome to the Club
As soon as your payment is processed, you are officially a member of BCYC! :
- Your gate key can be collected from the club on payment of the £20 refundable deposit.
- Your website login credentials will give you access member-only areas.
- Using the "Buddy System": Gain water access 7 days a week in summer and 4 days a week in winter.
New Member Onboarding
We don't just leave you at the gate. To get you settled, we will contact you to arrange:
- Club Induction & Powerboat Training: We hold these once a month. You'll receive a link to book your free session online.
- Duty Days: We'll help you select your two required duty days for the year. This is the best way to meet other members and learn how the club operates.
