Wingfoiling

Wingfoiling for beginners to advanced riders in Bristol, Somerset and the South West

Interested in trying this new exciting sport that is taking the Watersports world by storm? Cheddar reservoir is the ideal place to take your first steps into wing foiling.

Beginners

BCYC Velocity Wing Foiling School is offering beginner and intermediate wingfoiling lessons and clinics here at Cheddar. We have all the kit you'll need to get out on the water and learn how to handle the wing and make your first steps foiling. Our lessons are taught by a qualified RYA wingfoil instructor

Intermediates

Once you've signed up for a membership, the club offers a very active membership with over 50 wingfoilers taking to the water regularly. True to the Corinthian spirit of the club, the foilers take the time to help new members with learning the skills, and give all the advice you will need as you consider purchasing your own gear.

An inland, flat water location like cheddar reservoir is the perfect location to learn wing foiling, as the calm water and safety of the shore in all directions make launching your kit, getting up on your board and returning safely to land far easier and safer than learning in the sea.

Advanced

Even as an advanced foiler, the active community and flat water location offer an ideal training ground, and club members often organise group trips further afield to experience different conditions.
We also host an annual Fin & Foil festival on the first May bank holiday. Many of the biggest kit manufacturers in the sport attend and it will be possible to trial the latest equipment and pick up some deals as well.
