Learn to Sail - with Membership if required - Five Day Course April 2025

BCYC organises a five day combined RYA Level 1&2 course for new or existing members who are either complete beginners or returning to sailing and wanting to gain some experience and grow confidence.

It's a great course for meeting other sailors and getting to a standard to be able to hire club sailing boats. The dates are April 26 and 27th 2025 and then the following bank holiday weekend, May 3rd, 4th and 5th 2025 Further details and to book places on the five day learn to sail / refresher can be found on the BCYC Eventbrite Page CLICK HERE

There is an option to include your membership fee with the course and the training is provided at a discounted rate.

RYA level 1 - Start Sailing - An introduction to sailing dinghies for complete beginners, covering everything you need to know to get aoat, be able to sail in all directions and include an awareness of launching and recovering. The course is held under supervision of an instructor who is either in the boat or close by at all times. The course is generally held in the club Vision (above) or Wayfarer Dinghies

RYA Level 2 - Basic Skills - A follow on to Level 1, this course builds confidence and develops skills while sailing without an instructor in the boat at all time. The option of completing the course in single handed dinghies might be available depending upon the weather and the agility of the participants.
