Duty Types and Details

The Club is run by it’s members. There are two types of helpers: those who do a specific job, such as the Membership Secretary, and those who help by doing rostered duties.

If you would like to be involved in either Committee work, or specific jobs, please speak to either one of the Flag Officers or the Membership Secretary.

The Duty Roster is split into various job descriptions although members may be asked to be flexible and do more than one function depending on the demands of the duty day.

The person in charge throughout the day is the Officer of the Day (OOD)

The OOD heads a team consisting of OOD – Assistants. Some of these will operate safety boats, others help organise races or act as a lookout for capsizes/boats in trouble, and may help in galley if required.

The Galley provides food and drink on race days and is staffed by the Galley – Chief who is helped by Galley Assistant(s)
